You are making wonderful progress— about to enter May, the fifth month of your journey through the Bible! There are readings from 30 April to 3rd June across the next five weeks.
Find the daily readings and weekly introductions here: May Readings.

In the Old Testament this month, you’ll follow the dramatic story of David’s triumphs and struggles, the early days of Solomon’s reign, and the awe-inspiring construction of the Temple. You will also witness the sadness of the divided kingdom, as Israel splits into North and South, and the long line of kings who, more often than not, led the people away from God. Yet through it all, you’ll be inspired by the bold ministries of prophets like Elijah and Elisha, and encouraged by the stories of a few faithful kings who brought revival, hope, and restoration to their people.
In the New Testament this month, we finish Luke’s Gospel with his moving account of the crucifixion and resurrection, including the beautiful story of the disciples on the Emmaus Road. We then begin the Gospel of John, so different in style from the other three. John reveals Jesus as the Word made flesh, the Light of the world, and the Lamb of God. We see his first miraculous sign at the wedding in Cana, and once again, sinners and outcasts are drawn to his mercy, while others are confused, offended, and turn away. We finish this month’s readings with the astonishing story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.
As you read, may you be like those on the Emmaus Road, finding that Jesus himself draws near — opening your eyes to see, helping you understand, and setting your heart aflame with a deeper love for him.
