Last month, in the Old Testament, you began Isaiah; this month you’ll complete it and continue deep into the Prophets. From Isaiah’s soaring promises of salvation, you’ll move into Jeremiah, the “weeping prophet,” who warns of judgment yet holds out hope for a new covenant written on the heart. Then you’ll step into Lamentations, a moving collection of poems that grieve Jerusalem’s fall but still affirm that God’s mercies are new every morning. By the end of the month, you’ll be reading the opening chapters of Ezekiel, whose vivid visions reveal both God’s holiness and his determination to restore his people.
In the New Testament, you’ll finish 1 Timothy with Paul’s wise counsel on leadership and godliness, then read through 2 Timothy and Titus—letters where Paul, nearing the end of his life, charges younger leaders to remain faithful and to guard the gospel. From there, you’ll journey into Philemon and Hebrews, where the supremacy of Christ shines with power and clarity, calling us to perseverance. Finally, you’ll read James, 1 and 2 Peter—letters full of practical wisdom, encouragement to endure trials, and reminders that our hope is fixed on Christ’s return.
These readings bring both challenge and comfort, reminding us that God remains faithful to his covenant people and that our sure hope lies in Christ, who will complete the work he has begun.
