Welcome to December’s readings! You’ve nearly completed the journey of reading through the Bible in a year — what an amazing milestone! Congratulations!
This final month’s readings begin on 3rd December and end, of course, on 31st December.

In the Old Testament this month, you’ll finish Ezekiel’s powerful visions of both judgement and restoration before moving through the final stretch of the prophets. Daniel reveals God’s sovereignty over kingdoms and history; Hosea, Joel, Amos, and the other “minor prophets” call God’s people to faithfulness, repentance, and hope. Malachi, the last book of the Old Testament, closes with a promise: the Lord you seek will come, and he will bring renewal and justice.
In the New Testament, you’ll begin with John’s letters, urging believers to walk in truth, love, and obedience. Then Jude warns against false teaching before Revelation unfolds its sweeping vision. Here we see Jesus as the Lamb upon the throne, the one who conquers evil and makes all things new. The book closes not with despair, but with hope, with the promise of a new heaven and new earth, where God dwells with his people forever.
As you complete this year’s readings, take time to reflect on the journey. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells one great story—the story of God’s faithfulness, fulfilled in Jesus Christ. May this closing month draw you into deeper hope, worship, and anticipation of the day when God’s kingdom comes in all its fullness.
