We’re stepping into month three of our Bible-in-a-year journey, and that’s no small thing. By the time you reach the end of these readings, you’ll be a quarter of the way through the Scriptures. That will be worth pausing to celebrate – so look forward to it!
March gives us five full weeks of readings. It’s a slightly longer stretch, so this plan begins on 26th February and runs through to 1st April to keep everything aligned. Don’t be daunted by the length. The goal isn’t speed, it is faithfulness. Day by day, chapter by chapter, God will be forming you through his Word.

In the Old Testament Readings this month, we will continue to follow the ups and downs of the rebellious Israelites through their wilderness wanderings as we finish Numbers and move into Deuteronomy. As well as the stories of their journey, this book includes the sermons of Moses in which he reviews their journey, reminds them of the laws of God and emphasises the importance of faith and obedience if they are to possess the promised land that God is giving them. We then move into the book of Joshua, who, replacing Moses as leader, leads them into the promised land.
In our New Testament readings, we continue to follow the ministry of Jesus as depicted in the Gospel of Mark, where his extraordinary miracles and profound teachings captivate our attention. This narrative reaches its climax with the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus and the commissioning of his disciples to proclaim the gospel. We then move into the Gospel of Luke, which not only meticulously records historical events but also unveils the hidden realm of spiritual realities through accounts of angelic visitations and the dramatic confrontation between Jesus and the devil in the wilderness. Moreover, Jesus underscores that the kingdom he proclaims – and demonstrates through his miraculous deeds – is intended for all nations.
As you read this month, expect contrast. Wilderness and promise. Rebellion and renewal. Suffering and resurrection. Law remembered and kingdom announced. The story presses forward — and so do we.
Keep turning up. Keep opening the Scriptures. What may feel like an ordinary habit is, in fact, a holy one. God delights to meet his people in his Word, and he is shaping you, quietly and faithfully, as you read.
Enjoy your reading!
