A Little About Me:
My name is Trevor Lloyd, and I create and curate the material on this site to help people follow the way of Jesus. I have been seeking to do that, sometimes faithfully and sometimes falteringly, for over forty years, much of it in church leadership.
I led an evangelical-charismatic church in West Yorkshire, UK, for over twenty-five years and stepped away from that role recently to make way for new leaders and to give more time to reading, reflecting, and writing. Over the years, I have also lectured in leadership training contexts and hold an MA in Theology and Religious Studies.
This site is a place to share lessons learned, questions still being asked, and resources that help readers to follow Jesus and learn to live in the way of his upside-down kingdom.
This site is shaped by the conviction that the call to follow Jesus Christ draws us into a whole new way of life, one that is distinct from the patterns of the world around us. It is a call into a different kingdom.
This is not a finished product, but a growing library. The site is designed to develop organically over time into a trusted resource hub and guide, introducing and signposting readers to material that helps us follow Jesus faithfully in today’s world.
It recognises that there is a wealth of rich and helpful Christian writing and teaching already available. But it also acknowledges that not all of it is wise or life-giving. One aim of this site is to help readers navigate that landscape thoughtfully and well.
Its four main elements are:
Simple and accessible summaries of many of the books reviewed and recommended on this site
Growing a library of my own articles, and others from across the web, to encourage a reflective faith
a gradually growing library of accessible resources that will help you to follow Jesus and grow in your faith. Currently under development are:
You can find out a little more about each of these features of the site on this Site Overview article

‘…the kingdom Jesus established and modelled with his life, death, and resurrection…demonstrates the reign of God by manifesting the sacrificial character of God, and in the process, it reveals the most beautiful, dynamic, and transformative power in the universe.’
Greg Boyd

At the heart of the Christian gospel is a kingdom that is totally unlike the kingdoms of this world. It is a different kingdom. It summons us into a way of life that is radically countercultural. Its king is the crucified king, his crown a crown of thorns, his throne a cross. He taught his followers that the greatest are those who serve, that the last shall be first, that we are strong when we are weak, and that the way to find our life is to lose it. Those followers are apprentices in the way of this different kingdom, the way of surrender and sacrifice, the way of death and resurrection, of dying to live. To be a disciple of Jesus Christ is to learn to walk in the ways of his different kingdom. It is to follow their king’s example of living a life of selfless, serving and sacrificial love.
