Thank you for joining us on the Bible Tour for 2026. By the end of this year, you will have read either the whole Bible or the whole New Testament. That is no small thing.
The Bible is not a single book but a whole library of 66 books in all (39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New) written in different genres, in the ancient world, over a period of around a thousand years. Yet through this remarkable diversity runs a deep and coherent unity – a unified story that points to Jesus Christ. These writings have shaped nations, influenced cultures, and transformed countless lives.
To read the Bible in this way, to gain a sense of its overarching story and to hear its life-changing message centred on Jesus Christ, is one of the most important and rewarding journeys you can undertake.
Bible Tour is designed to help you read well, not just read more. Along the way, you will find short introductions to each book, notes to help you see how individual passages fit within the bigger picture, and that encourage thoughtful, prayerful reading. The aim is not to overwhelm you with information, but to help you listen more carefully, to the Bible and to the God who speaks through it, so that the Bible’s story becomes clearer, richer, and more deeply connected to your own life and discipleship.
From 1 January, you can begin here with the daily readings for the whole Bible. Or, if you would prefer a gentler start, just follow the New Testament readings on their own.
Each day’s readings will appear on the monthly reading plan, alongside a weekly introduction and guide to help you navigate the passages ahead. This is the first one for January. At the end of each month, you will find a link that takes you straight to the next month’s readings.
If you prefer a physical copy to use alongside your Bible, you can print off a PDF at the beginning of each month, or download this single PDF containing all twelve months of readings.
Bible Tour also works well with digital Bibles, and every reading is linked directly to Bible Gateway for ease of access.
And new this year, I am delighted to say that my friend Marcus Frost has prepared a fantastically helpful spreadsheet that allows you to tick off your daily readings and track your progress through the year. It is easy to use on your computer, tablet or phone and you can download a copy here.
The best way to keep up with all the resources designed to support you on this journey is to subscribe below to the DifferentKingdom website. Each new post, including updates and guides for the Bible Tour, will then be sent directly to your inbox. You can also follow Different Kingdom and the Bible Tour on the DifferentKingdom Facebook page.
However you approach it, and whether you choose to read the whole Bible or just the New Testament, my prayer is that your understanding will deepen, your faith will be strengthened, and your life will be enriched as you walk through Scripture this year.
