In the Old Testament readings, we continue the Israelites’ wilderness journey and step into Leviticus. Now, let’s be honest—Leviticus is often where many well-intentioned Bible reading plans come to a screeching halt. But don’t let it discourage you! The weekly notes are there to help you see how this fascinating book ties directly to Jesus, our worship, and our life of discipleship. After that, we’ll pick up the story of the Israelites’ journey again in Numbers.
In the New Testament readings, we’ll wrap up the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus is revealed as the long-awaited Messiah. Then, we’ll turn to Mark, a fast-paced gospel that introduces us to Jesus as the Servant King. Watch as he challenges our understanding of kingdom, power, and authority, turning the world’s expectations upside down.
Wherever you are in your reading, keep going. For some, the rhythm of simply reading the Word and letting it wash over you will be enough—pausing here and there when something stirs your spirit. For others, diving into the bite-sized introductions to key themes and images, and reading the book overviews will add an enriching layer of insight to your journey.
So well done for making it this far! As you continue, may you find yourself ignited by God’s Word, caught up in his great story of salvation, and deeply inspired by the God who pursues and redeems his people. Let’s keep pressing on together—February is bursting with treasures waiting to be uncovered!
