If you prefer reading from your physical Bible, and you haven’t already printed off a PDF with all the readings for the whole year, you can download and print the June readings, to keep with your Bible, here: Printable PDF for June Readings.
Also, don’t forget the brilliant spreadsheet for ticking off the readings as you go so you can track your progress over the year.
Old Testament Readings
In the Old Testament, we will l complete 1 Chronicles and move through 2 Chronicles, Ezra, and into Nehemiah. We’ll see David’s legacy, temple preparations, the highs and lows of Judah’s kings ending in tragic exile in Babylon, and then the return from exile to rebuild what was lost. Through it all, God’s faithfulness holds firm.
New Testament Readings
In the New Testament, we continue in John’s Gospel and then begin the book of Acts. We walk with Jesus through his final teachings, and then the cross and the resurrection. Then we witness the birth of the church, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and the bold first steps of gospel mission through Peter, Stephen, and the early believers.
As you read, may you also be inspired by the stories of God’s faithfulness and the power of the gospel to step out boldly in sharing with other people about the God of the Bible and what he has done for us in Christ.
